Frances Eugenia Breckenridge Massey, 73 of Lawrence, passed away Wednesday, February 7, 2024 at the Ochsner Rush Medical Center in Meridian, Mississippi. She was born Saturday, May 20, 1950 in the Mississippi Delta.
Visitation will be held on Friday, February 9, 2024 from 4:00PM until 6:00PM at Newton County Funeral Home - South in 100 Old Highway 15 Loop, Newton. Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 9, 2024 at 6:00PM at Newton County Funeral Home - South. Chaplain Dale Townsend will officiate.
She was a wonderful baker and seamstress. She also took pride in her self taught carpentry skills. She often opened her heart and home to others in need. Mrs. Massey was a business owner, English teacher and an accounting specialist for many years. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Newton.
She was preceded in death by her father, George Breckenridge; mother, Lillye Eugenia Scruggs Williams; step-father, Leroy Williams, brother, George Edward Breckenridge (Becky); and sister, Nancy Griffin (Raines).
Survivors include her sons, Wayne Massey and Douglas Massey of Lawrence, MS; daughter, Christina Casey (Christopher) of Dobbs Ferry, NY; sisters, Sue Breckenridge Brand, Teenie Williams Little; grandson, Nicholas Evan Massey; a host of nieces and nephews, and her fur babies, Willie, Maggie, Molly, Brett, and Down Down.
The family would like to acknowledge and are very grateful for Katheryn Rani Bunkley, Ashlea Bell, Suzanne and Allen Davenport, Robby Richardson, Aunt Sue Brand, Aunt Teenie Little, Adrian Styles, Celia and Larry Casey, and Marty and Judy Pace and Orlando Nettles for their love and support.
