Kirbyville man arrested on aggravated sexual assault of a child charges out of Newton County

Monday afternoon at approximately 2:30 PM, a Jasper County Sheriff’s Deputy was dispatched to the Buna Sub-courthouse regarding a wanted fugitive. Once the deputy arrived, he arrested 31-year-old James West of Kirbyville. West was wanted out of Newton County on an Motion To Revoke Probation warrant for Aggravated Sexual Assault of a Child- a 1st Degree Felony.
West was transported to the Jasper County Jail.
West is considered innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
Sheriff Chuck Havard and his staff are committed to combating criminal activity in Jasper County.
