Mid-week 7 Day Forecast

12News Meteorologist Patrick Vaughn

A typical summertime weather pattern is forecast for Southeast Texas through the end of this week and straight on through the weekend. So, partly cloudy, hot afternoons are forecast with highs in the lower to middle 90s. In addition, a slight chance of afternoon showers and thunderstorms each afternoon are expected with possibly lower chances Friday and Saturday.

Strong high pressure will develop well to our northeast. The flow around this high will induce a southeast flow. This will drag disturbances and higher moisture content off the gulf into the area the first-half of next week. So, scattered showers and thunderstorms are scheduled Monday, Tuesday and next Wednesday.

A southeast flow will result across Southeast Texas next week as high pressure builds will off to our northeast. This will drag higher moisture and disturbances into the area.

Scattered showers and thunderstorms (higher chances) return the first-half of next week.

Quiet through the end of the month in the gulf and Caribbean.

Lower chances and a bit hotter Friday and Saturday due to upper-level high pressure across Southeast Texas.

Juneteenth across Southeast Texas looks hot and humid under partly cloudy skies with about a 30% coverage of afternoon showers and thunderstorms.
