Mid-Week Forecast

12News Meteorologist Patrick Vaughn

Hot, humid weather conditions are forecast through Friday with very isolated afternoon showers and thunderstorms. Lows will remain in the middle to upper 70s with highs in the lower to middle 90s. This is due to weak high pressure aloft.

The Firecracker Forecast Friday evening looks warm and humid with temperatures in the lower 80s at 9 pm.

By Sunday, the high will move away with a 20% coverage of showers and thunderstorms forecast.

Early next week, rain chances increase to a 20-30% coverage of showers and thunderstorms due to an influx of gulf moisture and disturbance.

Wednesday, drier weather returns as high pressure aloft begins to rebuild over the region.

Early next week, the high will weaken and the atmosphere will begin to moisten. This will result in slightly better rain chances Monday and Tuesday.

There continues to be the potential for a tropical system to develop Friday, this weekend near Florida. At this point, it does not appear this will be an issue to Southeast Texas.

Friday and Saturday look hot, humid and mainly dry across SE Texas however, Sunday slightly better chances are forecast during the Fourth of July Weekend Forecast.

Friday looks hot, humid and mainly dry across SE Texas.

High pressure aloft and dry air in the middle layers resulted in mainly dry conditions Wednesday across SE Texas. More of the same Thursday.
