Newton County Sheriff's Report 11/17/2025

Hopefully everyone has had a wonderful week. We’ve had an extremely busy week around the office.

On Saturday night, we responded to a domestic disturbance at the Sabine ATV Park. The disturbance stemmed from an argument between a husband and wife that turned physical. Their son attempted to intervene, and the father pulled a knife on him. Long story short, he went to jail and was charged with Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon and Assault–Family Violence.

On Sunday morning, deputies were busy trying to locate a man on County Road 4101 who was running around the neighborhood knocking on doors and causing problems. Deputies located him, and he also went to jail.

Last week, we answered 59 calls for service and booked 6 individuals into the Newton County Jail. We currently have 23 inmates housed in the following facilities: 9 in Jasper, 7 in Beauregard Parish, and 7 in the Newton County Jail.
