Calls To Service (August 5, 2024 to August 11, 2024):  The Newton County Sheriff’s Office (NCSO) answered 65 calls to service.


Jail Population:   We currently have 15 inmates in the following jails;

7 housed in Newton, 4 housed in Beauregard, and 4 housed in Jasper.


Jail Transports: NCSO had 2 jail transports:

1 from NCSO to Plane State Jail, & 1 from St. Elizabeth to NCSO.


The following individuals were booked into the County Jail:

Newton (Unincorporated Limits): Disturbance x 4, Officer Assist x 3, Assault x 2, Mental Health, Follow Up, Welfare Concern, Medical Assist, Arrest (False Drug Test), Animal Nuisance x 2, Harassment, Extra Patrol, Traffic Hazard


Burkeville: Welfare Concern


Toledo Bend: Noise Complaint, Drowning


Shankleville: Extra Patrol


Wiergate: Civil Matter, Officer Assist, Trespassing


Liberty: Harassment, Welfare Concern


Trout Creek: Harassment, Reckless Driving
