Calls To Service (August 26, 2024 to September 1, 2024):  The Newton County Sheriff’s Office (NCSO) answered 32 calls to service.


Jail Population:   We currently have 16 inmates in the following jails;

7 housed in Newton, 1 housed at Mental Health Facility, 4 housed in Beauregard, and 4 housed in Jasper.


Jail Transports: NCSO had 3 jail transports:

1 from NCSO to JCSO, 1 from NCSO to Gist State Jail, 1 from NCSO to TDC- Huntsville.


The following individuals were booked into the County Jail:

Chappell, Devin Desiree 08/29/24 FS Driving While Intoxicated w/ Child 

Under 15 YOA

Samuel, Nikayla Leian 08/30/24 FS Probation Viol (Abandon End Child 



The following calls and reports were received by NCSO:  


Bon Wier: Extra Patrol, Officer Assist 


Deweyville: Burglary, Extra Patrol, Theft, Officer Assist x 2


Newton (Unincorporated Limits): Harassment x 3, Officer Assist x 2


Burkeville: Disturbance, Officer Assist, Civil Matter, Assault, Mental Health, Found Property


Toledo Bend: Harassment


Jamestown: Animal Nuisance


Liberty: Officer Assist 


Biloxi: Theft 


Bleakwood: Disturbance, Theft


Kirbyville: Burglary


Buckhorn: Noise Complaint


Old Champion: Officer Assist, Extra Patrol, Disturbance 


Gist: Harassment
