Calls To Service (October 28, 2024, to November 3, 2024):  The Newton County Sheriff’s Office (NCSO) answered 49 calls to service.


Jail Population:   We currently have 15 inmates in the following jails;

11 housed in Newton, 2 housed in Beauregard, and 2 housed in Jasper.


Jail Transports: NCSO had 2 jail transports:

1 from NCSO to Byrd Unit, 1 from JCSO to NCSO.


The following calls and reports were received by NCSO: 


Bon Wier: Welfare Concern, Reckless Driving, Trespassing, Extra Patrol, Disturbance, Civil Matter


Deweyville: Missing Person (False Alarm), Animal Nuisance, Alarm x 2, Officer Assist, Harassment, Civil Matter, Trespassing, Mental Health


Newton (Unincorporated Limits): Officer Assist x 2, Terroristic Threat, Mental Health, Disturbance


Toledo Bend: Animal Nuisance


Burkeville: Officer Assist, Accident, Unlawful Restraint x 2, Extra Patrol, Animal Nuisance, Reckless Driving


Jamestown: Reckless Driving, Officer Assist


Shankleville: Welfare Concern


Liberty: Welfare Concern


Pine Grove: Fire (Unable to Locate)


Bleakwood: Disturbance, Officer Assist x 3, Suspicious Activity


Buckhorn: Suspicious Activity


Sandjack: Disturbance


Kirbyville: Disturbance


Nichol’s Creek: Suspicious Activity


Call: Traffic Hazard, Noise Complaint


Gist: Animal Nuisance, Officer Assist
