Newton Revitalization Group enjoyed its first Christmas gathering at Betty Jane's, a destination for group meetings and in the spring a field of beautiful blooms. This new space is the brainchild of Bonnie Barrow Kelly who is creatively thinking of ways to enhance community engagement as well as bring joy to all ages. Space use ideas include, pick your own bouquet, beekeeping tutorials, animal petting events for children, group meeting space and so much more.
The 2023 NRG Christmas gathering was a true success with a $425.00 donation to Newton Volunteer Fire Department's annual Toys for Tots annual Christmas drive. Debbie and Toby Pennington spent hours on the courthouse square during the Newton Christmas Festival and Parade accepting donations. Newton's generosity is greatly appreciated by its children.
NRG has established monthly meetings on the 2nd Tuesday of each month. January 9, 2024 will kick off the 2024 calendar year for NRG with discussing projects, determining committee leaders per project and lining out the 2024 monthly calendar of events in which NRG will support and participate. We encourage all interested parties to attend the Newton Revitalization Group meeting on January 9, 2024, 5:30pm at Betty Jane's 2606 Hwy 87 North, Newton Texas 75966. Please join NRG and bring your ideas for 2024 to discuss!
