Newton County Constable Precinct 4 Howie Wonders said that on Friday he received an unexpected call from someone in Dallas County concerning one of his guys.
Wonders said that the caller was thanking him for the swift actions of one of his deputies on a wreck scene in that area. The call was a surprise to Wonders who said that he was half asleep and didn't even catch a name, but what he was told, definitely caught his attention.

Wonders said that one of his deputies was heading home this morning from an out of town trip and happened to come up on an 18 Wheeler accident. Luckily he had a trauma bag in his personal vehicle because a female victim had a 9 inch cut on her arm, a large gash above her right eye, and was bleeding from her femoral artery.

The unidentified Deputy Constable used three tourniquets and two pressure bandages on her and saved her life in the process.
Unfortunately, the deputy's name cannot be released just yet because he works undercover, but had it not been for him being in the right place at the right time with the right equipment, this young lady would have more than likely lost her life.
Wonders said, "I'll be very honest with you, I keep A LOT of stuff in my truck but I wouldn't have even been that prepared for something like this. Job well done sir."
