SCAM ALERT 04/19/24

Newton County Sheriff Robert Burby said in a Facebook alert that citizens are reporting receiving calls from individuals claiming they are with Newton County Sheriff's Office and are calling in reference to the individual missing jury duty, past due fines, or warrants. OUR EMPLOYEES DO NOT MAKE PHONE CALLS OF THIS NATURE. If you receive a suspicious call such as this, do not release any personal information and block the number if you have the ability to do so.
