Updated: Newton County searching for possible drowning victim

The search has been called off for the night and will resume at 8am tomorrow.

Newton County Sheriff Robert Burby said that at 4:36 pm Saturday a call came in regarding a possible drowning on Toledo Bend at 155 Ridge Crest in Burkeville.

The only information that has been released Is that first responders are on the scene and are searching for a 24-year-old male. He was swimming with a group of people.

The man's identity has not been released. We will update our readers as more information is made available.
