On this Saturday morning, Newton Volunteer Fire Department (NVFD) firefighters are out at the intersection of Highways 190 and 87, collecting donations for their annual school supply drive.
Whether it’s monetary contributions, new school supplies, or just a few kind words, NVFD says every bit is appreciated and goes directly toward helping local students prepare for the upcoming school year.
“You’ll see us in the street today!” the department shared in a post. “Monetary, school supplies, or a few kind words... all is appreciated!”
The effort is part of NVFD’s ongoing commitment to the community — not just in emergencies, but in support of children and families throughout the year.
If you're out and about, stop by the intersection, wave, honk, or drop off a donation to help the cause.
